A brighter and whiter smile can instantaneously boost your confidence. Whether it’s a job interview or a date, it gives you the confidence to be the best version of yourself. We offer you a fast and effective Zoom!® teeth whitening, a bleaching technique that gives satisfying results. Better than the other whitening treatments available in the market, it elicits the desired results in no time. Harborn Dental also offers Zoom!® Chairside Whitening System that helps you achieve a smile that is 8 shades brighter in about 90 minutes.
Zoom!® is a bleaching process that works by lightening the dentin and enamel of the teeth. The active ingredient in the gel is a component of hydrogen peroxide, which constitutes 25% of the gel's composition. This component breaks down into tiny oxygen bubbles when applied to your teeth, eliminating the yellowness or stains on your teeth.
We use a specialized mercury metal halide light to expedite the whitening process. A unique infrared filter is used in this light, which reduces the heat on your teeth, minimizing sensitivity. This light does not affect the internal structure of your teeth and only works on the outer surface, leaving your teeth healthy and intact during and after the treatment.
Our dentists at Harborn Dental value your oral health more than anything else. Therefore, we first conduct a thorough evaluation of your teeth to check whether they are healthy. Zoom!® Whitening Treatment cannot be performed on unhealthy teeth. If there is tooth decay or gum disease, our dentists will first work on controlling that before performing the whitening treatment.
If your teeth and gums are in a healthy state, we will proceed with the whitening treatment. The first step is to clean your teeth before the actual procedure. After that, we will cover your lips and gums, leaving your teeth exposed, thereafter applying the Zoom!® hydrogen peroxide whitening gel on your teeth. The gel will be activated for three 15-minute sessions each with the help of the Zoom!® light. The Zoom!® Teeth Whitening process is mostly painless, but some patients experience a slight tingling sensation due to teeth sensitivity.
The post-treatment results vary as per the degree of staining and the condition of the teeth. Consult with our dentists regarding the aftercare so that the teeth whitening effects last longer.
Harborn Dental also offers at-home teeth whitening services in Mississauga, which requires two visits. The first visit will be to create a mould of your teeth to custom-fabricate clear plastic trays. On the second visit, our dentists will ask you to try on the trays to check if they offer a proper fit. If not, we will make the necessary adjustments before handing them over to you.
You will be required to wear these trays with a special whitening solution either twice a day for 30 minutes or overnight for a couple of weeks, depending on the level of staining and the desired level of whiteness. Expect a little tooth sensitivity during the time you are whitening your teeth. It is normal and will subside once you stop bleaching.
It is essential to consult a dentist before you go for teeth whitening. The dentist will evaluate the condition of your teeth and will guide you in the right direction. Tooth whitening only works on natural enamel, not on implants or false teeth. So, it is best to book a consultation to evaluate the replacement of any old fillings or crowns you might have. The whitening treatment will be performed before the replacements. After we are done with bleaching your teeth, our dentist will do the needed replacements so that they can match the colour of your newly whitened teeth. Tooth whitening is not a permanent procedure; thus, you might need a touch-up every few years or so.
